The National Minimum Wage is reviewed annually by the Fair Work Commission. From July 2024, it is $24.10 per hour, or $915.90 per 38-hour week. Most awards set higher rates — check the Fair Work Ombudsman website for your award.
Casual employees receive a 25% casual loading on their base rate in lieu of paid leave entitlements. A $30/hr permanent rate is roughly equivalent to $37.50/hr casual when factoring in the loading.
Superannuation: From July 2024, employers must contribute 11.5% of your ordinary time earnings to your super fund — this is on top of your salary and not included in the figures shown.
